Sailor's Delight

Are you glowering at me, sky?
Did you lose your blue,
Over Biscayne Bay?
-- I'm going back,
And leaving behind the day.
Red sky, sky of war,
See me home;
I'm soon there.

  • My first thought on seeing this was that all the pink clouds were racing to become one with the orange one...the palm trees were some sort of demarcation line...

    P.S. I saw your remark on Althouse about answering email! :0! I normally don't mind, unless it's a bit of seriousness! But this last one was a bit of audio humor for you m'dear! Why pass up any chance at a good chuckle, one that could find it's mp3 way onto one of your iPods! (end teaser line!)

    Intriguing! I would love to know what people think of it, in terms of interpretation.

    You know what I think of it, from the words I wrote in the poem about it.

    Red sky, sky of war, has lost its cool, and because of that, shows me the way home.

    Boo, I suck. I will check it out, Ron. Promise. :)

    Cheers,
    Victoria
