One Day

One day, I'm going to be this lady.

I've already got the dog, the exact same blouse, and those sunglasses are almost mine. All I need is the Lily Pulitzer handbag, and hey presto! I'm just another Palm Beach laze-about matron with an overtan and nothing to do, but shop on Worth Avenue all day.

I'd go mad in a fortnight.

P.S.: I'm back! But give me a day to acclimatise myself, please. I shall answer all the pressing, futuristic questions I left on Sunday, in no time at all!

  • It would take far less than a fortnight's reading of your blog posts to know that Victoria is made of sterner stuff than a mere 'shop-o-tron!' At the center of our grand admiration for you, I'd think, yes, yes!

Take your time...do some chillin', some stone cold lampin'...(remember?)
    We'll keep.

I go to Zings tomorrow for their 25th anniversary party. Reuben sandwiches, $5! It'll be a madhouse! This is the best news in my life lately...

  • Welcome home! As for the shopatron, sometimes I think I would love that life, but I'm sure I'd be bored in record time myself. I know if I had that much free time and a bottomless pit of money/credit, I wouldn't spend my time shopping. There are too many other wonderful things out there to experience. Anyway, glad to see you back. Caroline

  • Have you been somewhere then? ;-)

I do know you've been away from youksef far too long. The place is dying on it's arse TBH.

  • Welcome home, Madam!

    How was the shopping, etc?

  • One day?

Isn't that what you were doing early in the week?

    ;)

  • Who are you, and what have you done with Victoria?

Hint: send her to N. Florida and I'll take real good care of her. Oh, and send her parka, too. ;-)

    Thankee. ;)

But I do have to say...I love to shop. I just can't imagine that being any woman's SOLE occupation though.

I don't want to be a lady who lunches, as SATC so stultifyingly showed.

At the center of our grand admiration for you, I'd think, yes, yes!

Aww. I missed you too, Ronboy. ;)

I remember cold lampin'! I asked Renato about it quite recently, but he forgot what it meant (I've since looked it up on the Urban Dicktionary).

Oh baby! I LOVE REUBENS. Russian dressing, mmmmm.

I'd trade 2 days in Palm Beach lounging by a pool, for ONE Zing's Reuben sandwich, and no mistake.

    Blog, blog, blog, Ron. ;)

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • Welcome home!

Thanks, Caroline! And may I compliment you on your photo -- you look DAZZLING.

As for the shopatron, sometimes I think I would love that life, but I'm sure I'd be bored in record time myself.

    Good!

I have to screw my head for a shop-a-tron mentality for the day. I can do it, but my mother doesn't have to go through these mental gymnastics -- it comes to her by nature...

I know if I had that much free time and a bottomless pit of money/credit, I wouldn't spend my time shopping.

What would you do? Other than travel, give your family everything they desire, and buy a 108" Sharp plasma, obviously.

There are too many other wonderful things out there to experience. Anyway, glad to see you back.

Thanks, Caro. Good to be back amongst friends like you. :)

    Cheers,
    Victoria

Just a few hours worth, pet. ;)

I do know you've been away from youksef far too long. The place is dying on it's arse TBH.

Oh no...not the hale and hearty YOUKSEF too. What of Joe? And of Ben? And La Conlan? And your fine self? Surely they're pulling their weight?

(Interestingly, and perhaps sadly too, an RSS'er emailed me last week to say the same thing about that ng too...ah well, I will return soon!)

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • Welcome home, Madam!

Hey! I am a Mademoiselle as yet. ;)

    How was the shopping, etc?

Well, my dearest Benning, I will say that my eyes had their fill, but where I went, you'd have to have a pocketbook of a Rothschild to satiate one's shopping's desires...still, I don't mind looking as long as I can walk away with ONE THING bought.

    Which I did. Sunglasses! :)

    Cheers,
    Victoria

Seems all of you know me too well, JSU. ;)

(BTW, I passed by the Kravitz Centre. What is your opinion of the Palm Beach Opera wotsit?)

    Cheers,

  • Who are you, and what have you done with Victoria?

She is being kept against her will at JC Penneys in Dadeland. If her friends desire her well, they shall ransom her via PayPal.

Hint: send her to N. Florida and I'll take real good care of her. Oh, and send her parka, too. ;-)

Ooh, is it "cold" up there? It was 84F in the shade up in North SoFla. ;)

(Seriously, though, Florida can't take colder nights. I hope ya'll are prepared to pay more for OJ this spring)

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • How flattering. I must say I am THE most UNPHOTOGENIC human being on the face of this earth. When I good one comes along I milk it for all it is worth. Do you the I can use this one on my driver's license?

  • Vic! Zing post is up!

Caroline, you MUST be being modest, or you just don't have good photographers around you! -- seriously, you look amazing in that photo.

    It cannot be an one-off.

  • I am still recovering from my recent exertions, so guys, I will answer the previous posts in the weekend.

Let me just say that whilst a lot of you got close to guessing Why and What, none of you got Where. ;)

    Cheers,

  • "What is your opinion of the Palm Beach Opera wotsit?"

For various reasons including being favored by and connected to the Met's young artists program, Palm Beach features some fantastic young talent doing big roles for the first time.

I'd go, if I had the chance. If I'd been in Florida some weeks earlier I'd have done much to catch Tamara Mumford in the Rossini.
