Kenya Wants McCain

Remember my recent blogpost, The World Wants Obama? I linked to a site, If the World Could Vote, where all internet users can vote for either of the two presumptive candidates for the US Presidency:

Senator Barack Hussein Obama or Senator John Sidney McCain III.

The current tally of votes didn't surprise me. An overwhelming 85% of the cybernauts want the Senator from Illinois.

That's when my eyes scrolled down to Kenya -- the birthplace of his daddy, home of his Luo tribe, and where his cousin, Raila Odinga, ran for President of Kenya in 2006. Obama even campaigned for him.

Could you imagine my astonishment -- for I just could't believe my eyes. 100% of voters for Kenya voted for McCain...

How racist.

UPDATE 16 July 2008:

Barack Obama 86% (8169 votes)
John McCain 14% (1332 votes)

Total number of votes: 9501
Countries voted from: 91

Still 100% of Kenyans for McCain.

UPDATE 25 July 2008:

Still 100% of Kenyans for McCain.

  • How racist.

Yeah. Probably the only internet user in Kenya is white.

    Elko, pity poor Raila Odinga!

1- He has no internet access.
2- His cousin can campaign for him, but can't buy him a computer with all the millions his books made.

  • Poor Americans.
The only problem you have is ignorance which is equal to complete lack of knowledge. All Africans not only kenyans are for obama jst try to make this another alaska and you will be supprised that all of us will vote obama.
And for one thing if you americans hate muslims then its your own problem coz here we interact and live like brothers and sisters.
Welcome to nairobi the only city in the whole world with a national park within it. remember I dint say a zoo coz we dont have those in Africa. You can also enjoy the sun in the White sands at the coast in malindi or Mombasa towns.

  • I'm British, Odhiambo. And I've been to Kenya.

    Thank you for your commentary.
