Sarah Palin's eBay Feedback

By now, you've probably heard Governor Sarah Palin's infamous remark about having gotten rid of the gubernatorial jet, frugal Alaska gal and pork barrel cutter that she is.

What made it go from laudable to absolutely precious is that she mentioned she sold it on eBay!

The camera panned to the crowd, and you could see eBay CEO Meg Whitman roll back in her seat on the convention floor, delightedly, since her shares will go through the roof.

Palin wasn't just punchy, as the usual suspects cough Keith Olbermann cough in the media said she was -- she was a breath of fresh air and folksy in a way that Americans haven't heard in their politicians at that level, since (Give 'em Hell) Harry Truman.

I'm sure he would've sold that desk sign with "the buck stops here" for a pretty penny on eBay.

Then I got to thinking.

I wonder what her eBay ID is? Betcha it's "PitbullWithLipstick49"! And how about the feedback?!! Is it 100%? Or has she flubbed a couple of sales or purchases, and if so, would that reflect badly on her Vice-Presidential character?

Couldn't find the required info. Darn it.

How can we judge our modern politicians, if we don't know if they'd gyp us on the shipping and handling? Maybe Obama sends his stuff Media Mail, but charges us for the Fedex. This is important to know, people! No less the future of the free world depends on it!

It's not hard to imagine what Governor Palin's feedback would like. Though I think some of the items she sold and the buyer's names might surprise you (click to expand).

Whew! The threat of retaliatory negative feedback really saved her there.

I'll tell you what though; there is no greater testing ground in modern-day America, for any person, than being a seller on Fleabay. You are the mercy of both sellers and buyers, and you better deliver each time.

And any politician with 100% feedback has got my vote!

P.S.: All kidding aside, you might find this legitimate Sarah Palin eBay auction item of some amusement to you.

    Thanks. :)

I erased the ones people left for me, and just wrote some stuff which would make people giggle.

Good to know it did, Bob! :)

  • Victoria,
You know that the Cindy/Mother Theresa line was a joke. Just like my Obama/Satan Terrorist line was a joke. The only thing I like about Cindy is what she did for that little girl, and quite honestly it even makes my cold black heart melt. I hope you know this...and thanks for reading as always!

  • Did anyone actually see/hear the speach? She did not say she sold it on Ebay, she said she put it on Ebay. Not everything on Ebay gets sold. The point was not get stuff sold on Ebay, the point was get rid of the un-necessary frivolous things. If it weren't for the evolution of wants into "needs" for people spending the tax payer's money then maybe some of the problems wouldn't be.

  • I did hear (on TV) that although she did put it on ebay, it didn't sell so she ended up selling it in a more 'conventional manner'. They had to add that someone (not her) had said she sold it for a profit, she didn't. Half a million less than something. Maybe what she'd asked for it? Maybe what was paid for it but there's a video from 2007 and I think the guy says they'd had it for a year and a half then. So I don't know (and don't care) what price she got for it. She put the money back in the Alaskan treasury.

The press will continue to try to rip her apart. I hope there are many people like you (and me) who think she's great. And all the dirt they throw will not stick. It would have to be something really bad and absolutely proven for my opinion of her to be lowered in any way.
