  • Open thread Thursday!

P.S.: And yes, I am a huge fan of Mickey Mouse. Who isn't?

It strikes me that Mickey is the one thing I have in common with my dad and granddad, as far as youthful memories go.

I suppose Barbie will be the only toy or recognisable childhood memoribilia which comes closest, in future generations (Star Wars light sabres perhaps, for the lads).

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • Looks like that Mickey has been cold lampin' on the porch with some 40s and a spliff or two..or eight.

    S'Ok, mon! S'all good!

I was cured of my Mickey interests by the wife of a friend whose MM obsession knew no bounds! I was even informed that the evening of the conception of their first child her "lucky" MM undies were used! Brrrr...I consider that an "overshare."

  • Seems Mickey has had an interesting evening with Minnie! ;)

Having watched Mickey and his friends be PG-rated into banality by the Eisners, et al, I lost my interest in things Disney a while back. I tend to revere Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd. :D

  • My God, this is an eye-opening experience!

When I took this photo of Mickey lying on the floor of a Disney Store, I thought, whew, he looks like me after going shopping.

Tired, but yet very very happy.

Meanwhile Ron here refers to spliffs and Mad Dog 40s, whilst Benning thinks Mickey has that après-sex look!

Men are from Mars, and Women are from Saks.

    Cheers,

  • Okay, Ron, I'll admit it. I don't know, and Google did not upchuck info.

    What's cold lampin' mean?

    Cheers,

  • Cold Lampin -- Lampin, means looking, seeing, a vision of seeing something cool... Cold Lampin' kinda means 'calm seeing', either relaxed or stoned or "with inner calm."

as opposed to Hot Lampin, which usually means "looking for a fight" or , less frequently, seductively...

Soon, I'll be breaking out into "Gin 'N' Juice," or "Rollin' with my Homies," or "Big Pimpin." Ah, Detroit, we hardly knew ye!

  • Even better definition than mine from Urban Dictionary:

    Lampin

  • and here's Cold Lampin!

    Cold Lampin

  • Definition of cold lampin':

innactive, chillin', similar to the cool temperature of a light in a lamp that has not been used in some time.

    OHHHHHHHHH. Got it. Weird.

    Thanks Ronboy!

  • I'm more of a Steamboat Willie fan myself :)

Surprised no one has mentioned vibrating Mickey Mouse beds at Disney World either.

If you go to Disney World, they have this whole section in a ride in Main Street, devoted to Steamboat Willie and early Mickey movies. :)

Surprised no one has mentioned vibrating Mickey Mouse beds at Disney World either.

Honeymoon suites, my dear. Few people here are in that posish!

    Cheers,
