Do Not Paint The Devil On The Wall

There's an old French saying: Do not paint the devil on the wall, for he will appear to you in person.

Anglo-Saxonese translation, "even saying something out loud that you don't want to happen, is testing Fate."

Team Obama have come out with this campaign video. Note it's with another assist by MSNBC.

IN THE COMMENTS: Blake muses.

That's an interesting approach.

So, what, MSNBC just says, "Sure, Barack! We'll help you make whatever commercials you want!"

Given that his campaign texted his supporters (yes, he's still doing the sms thing) to watch the debate specifically on CNN, and then had to go back and send another text correcting that, I'd say that's how it looks, yes.

Please note that Fox News have been going unusually soft on Obama of late. Even the HillaryClintonForum PUMAs have noticed that. Either they're concerned with talk of "racist" backlash, or they're increasingly in the tank too.

  • Well... it looks like they stitched it together using archive footage.

The McCain footage is obviously from his first rally with Palin, the Brokaw footage is probably from 2004, and the Olbermann commentary is from sometime in the primaries.

But yes, I guess MSNBC is helping out by not filing a copyright claim. (Unlike, say, anyone when anything is used for a McCain ad.)

I say it's no biggie -- McCain looks like a total winner here. In fact, when McCain supporters are feeling low, they should watch that video, to see their guy win.

  • Let me tell you, this ad is directly aimed at his craziest of supporters; everyone with McCain Derangement Syndrome. Anyone neutral or pro-McCain won't really be affected by it.

(I've read the feministe.us website. They go absolutely insane over McCain/Palin.)
