Prince Bond

Princes William and Harry make their first appearances as royal guests-of-honour at the new Bond film's world premiere in London.

"Quantum of Solace" (Worst. Bond. Film. Name. Ever.) was shown to a star-studded audience at the Odeon in Leicester Square.

Here they are, braving the artic conditions with their shiny red noses, and impeccable smokings.

  • 'Quantum of Solace' (Worst. Bond. Film. Name. Ever.)

Everyone thinks: why not "Measure of Solace"?

    The producers explain:

The title originally comes from an Ian Fleming short story and, in the context of that, it means that a relationship cannot be salvaged unless there is a ‘quantum of solace’ between the two parties. ‘Quantum’ meaning ‘measure’ and ‘solace’ meaning ‘comfort’ – so if they are not willing to share that then their relationship is not redeemable. In our case, it is a couple of things; Bond is looking for a ‘quantum of solace’ after his experiences in CASINO ROYALE, and ‘Quantum’ also happens to be the name of the villainous organization in the film.

I liked "Casino Royale", so I'll probable see "Quantum of Solace," but the title still sucks.

  • Both young men would make their mother proud.

I am always interested in the British monarachy. I was a young 20-something when Princess Di married Prince Charles in that awful time frame of 3:30 a.m. CDT. My mom and I were up watching as were my sisters (I think...were ya Ruth?). See I got married 10 months later.

I told my mom that I thought that Princess Diana was lovely. And she proceeded to tell me the story about Queen Elizabeth marrying Prince Philip because he was handsome....and that hopefully they'd produce handsome children. Mom seemed to remember that from her days watching the British monarchy.

Anyway, after Prince Harry was born, my mom quipped..."an heir and a spare."

I just chuckled at her humor.

Both handsome young men...Princess Di did a wonderful job with them as well as their father, since her death.

Now...as to Quantum of Solace...I can't wait to see that. Daniel Craig with those eyes!! I thought Casino Royale was one of the best 007 films.

On the movie docket tonight...the Changeling. I'm sure Clint has produced another Oscar-worthy flick.

Only 4 more days until the election....

    Take care, Victoria!!

    Cheers to you...

    Peggy
