Well I learned a lot.*LOL!*I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at your impeccable comic timing.I was waiting for Mr. Aguirre to hear the mp3, before I posted what I said."Cubanito, Cubanito, where have I been all your life? En un trailer en la Souwesera, mi amor".Cuban lad, Cuban lad, where have I been all your life? In a mobile home in the Southwest part of Miami, my love.It just sounds funny to hear me say "trailer" with a thick Cuban accent, and for that matter, la Souwesera. And for that matter, mi amor!Trust me on this one, Paul. :)Cheers,Victoria

Auxilio!!!!!!!!!!LOLOL! Yay!I keep listening to you over and over! You are good!!!Okay, you know how they say you should never explain a joke? Well, forget dee tango, as Pepe Peña would say.I at first was just going to say, En un trailer en la Souwesera. That came out with me sounding like a Venezuelan or Colombian! (Hi Jorge *G*)You know, sing-songy, finishing UP on the last word. Eek!So I added, Cubanito, Cubanito, which I knew would make you start out laughing already.(BTW, I was soooo disappointed that I hear my frikkin' British accent in the -to part at the end. TOE! What on earth, I know it's not supposed to be TOE. Coo-bah-nee-toe. But I did it 3 times, and each time it came out like that...sniff)Then I remembered our Souwesera joke, which I used in the first blogpost on Hugo Chavez. :)That had to make you smile too.And the trailer, well, the first time _I_ heard this word pronounced, a la Cubana, it was like pimpanpun, or bibaporru -- hilarious. So that went in.But the best bit, in my never humble opinion, is how the "mi amor" sounds like.Dude, I nailed it!That "amor" at the end, with the r sounding like a 'thdh" thingie which Cubans do...perfecto!*g*Que ocurrente eres! Hey, now it's my turn to ask! What does "occurente" mean in this context? Of course I occur. All over!I'm glad you liked it, Jose. :)Cheers,Victoria

When we Cubans say that a person is "ocurrente" it means they have a very quick witty way about them; they spontaneously come up with funny witty retorts, etc. You are all that and more!Reading your comment to my comment almost leaves me speechless. You pick up on so many nuances about everything that I simply conclude you are very gifted!

When we Cubans say that a person is "ocurrente" it means they have a very quick witty way about them; they spontaneously come up with funny witty retorts, etc. Ahhhh. I see!I learnt Spanish in England in the equivalent of 10th grade. My instructor in Spanish was a Spaniard, so I can do a Castilian accent like you would die to hear! It's so funny (yes, I can "hear" the funniness there too).He would've called me "lista", which I think is like occurente, although occurente, if I understood correctly, has more of a humour emphasis, than a "sharp" emphasis. ;)You are all that and more!Pour it on, baby! As I wait for Norberto to arrive at 2 PM to finish the job (yop), I will re-read this and wallow in its warmth. ;)Reading your comment to my comment almost leaves me speechless. You pick up on so many nuances about everything that I simply conclude you are very gifted!I sound like a magnet school! ;)Thanks, Jose, as ever...sniff.Cheers,Victoria

You know, I know what it is to be a woman and listen to the high praise given to another woman -- it kinda makes you feel uncomfortable. Not jealous, EXACTLY, just...uncomfortable.No wonder I have few women readers here, and the ones who are around, sometimes must have their stomachs turned by so much love given to me.TOO BAD! Take it! Freaks!Just kidding. Seriously.Just to tell nobody in particular that all this praise, love, and admiration that is showered on me on Sundries by my male readers, especially, doesn't make me swollen-headed.It makes me humble. It makes me ALWAYS want to be worthy of that affection. Thanks guys. All of you. :)Cheers,Victoria

Classic! Jose must've been shocked when he heard it.Victoria, you have a pretty good Cuban accent. Souwesera came out flawless, as well as trailer.Robert (a proud product of Guecheste in the Souwesera).

Classic! Jose must've been shocked when he heard it.I know right!Victoria, you have a pretty good Cuban accent. With a few maltas inside me, and in the privacy of my own den.Although I do admit that if I stick to "un cafecito, por favor" at Versailles, it comes out PERFECT. Down to the "favor" having that "thdh" thingie I mentioned. They think I'm Cuban! Then they ask me something else, and the wheels fall off...boo. Souwesera came out flawless, as well as trailer.I love saying trailer. Trailer. Trailer! It's so Cuban.Like chee-ro (sheetrock ;).Robert (a proud product of Guecheste in the Souwesera).Por tu madre, otro de Guecheste. Mira que los guajiros estan por todo lado!We could continue like this for DAYS. :)Cheers,Victoria
