Ain't That The Truth

(Via Zombie)

"It is the soldier, not the community organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate."

Aimed towards the "Recreate 68" protesters in Denver during the DNC, but could refer almost too poignantly to John McCain versus Barack Obama.

  • Ahhh, the "Recreate 68" lovers of freedom. And how have they expressed their love of Freedom? Like this.

    Great post and reminder, Victoria!

  • well, the 'recreate 68' idiots (whose stated goal is to start a convention riot) won't succeed. What is interesting though is that they've uncovered a number or Republican operatives who have been posing as hard-core backers of Hillary Clinton, trying to get other Hillary supporters to become 'nobamas' (i.e. to support McCain, or at least not support Obama.) So I wonder whether we will find out sooner or later that some of the recreate 68 people are also Republican operatives. I mean, suppose they succeeded. Who would benefit the most if there is a convention riot?

    Regarding Obama vs. McCain:

Your point is not relevant at all. We are electing a President and if a military background meant a person would be a better President then why didn't you support John Kerry last time around?

If you like the way things are, then by all means support McCain. His plan for taxes is George Bush's plan. His plan for Social Security is George Bush's plan. His position on the economy is a lot like Bush's plan. He's praised Bush's Supreme Court picks and promised us more of the same. His foreign policy is mostly indistinguishable from Bush's.

On the other hand if you believe that things are seriously off track then McCain is not the answer.

Huh? Kerry had a military background, but he nullified it when he came back.

Obama trumpets change for it's own sake. He won't tell us where he wants to take us beyond empty promises.

The Dem party lost me (and lot of others) shortly after the 2000 election. We're just not coming back.
