Considering that North Carolina, Vegas, and Portland are all vigourously trying to get the Florida Marlins to jump ship, over there, at least, if this proposal to turn the Hialeah Race Track into the Marlins' home (temporarily) goes through, it would keep them here.
Even if I defy anyone to find their way around Hialeah. With a compass.

What a worm. Tampa worked hard for a team for years. Not a peep from Miami. When the Money Man got into the act he lied about the weather in Miami, and a lot of other things, and the MLB boobs ignored reality. And they chose Miami before Tampa.
Huizenga never had any intention of keeping his commitments. Spend the money, buy the talnet, buy - with some luck! - the Series, and sell.
What a joke! And now Hialeah wants to pay for the privilege of hosting these twits?
Go for it! Any city that pays to build a stadium for these rich twits deserves the tax increases they bring.
I was aginst Pinellas county paying to build. They didn't, but St. Pete did! Screw 'em! Let 'em pay forever! I was against Tampa paying a cent to the Glazers for a new stadium (the Sombrero was a pile of garbage!) and they did anyway. Now it's a constant battle over revenues and taxes.
They can all drop dead. Wanna move to another city? Do it! Quick! Before we kick you out, you ungrateful jerks!
