Blogroll Drumroll

As you may have noticed recently, I've been sprucing up the Sidebar of my blog, to better reflect current, and updated Haunts & Lurks.

Part of the delight of blogging, is getting to meet people from every part of the world, sharing every viewpoint imaginable, some that might not reflect one's own, but who cares at the end of the day.

People are people, not mouldy, divisive ideas conspiring to keep us apart.

With good humour and civility, any difference can be bridged. You can bet on it.

Therefore, I've tried to list every person that I have remembered who has done me the honour of including me in their blogroll, as well as increasing the amount of Althouse Connexion friends I have made these two years.

I don't do this as pro-forma graciousness, you understand.

I do it because I care about the people I deal with every day, including those who may have fallen off the rails internetwise, but who I still keep warm in my heart.

I hope, in turn, that you can forgive me a little when life interrupts my internet participation, as it has recently.

If you don't find your name listed and wish I had thought of you, drop me an email. I'll sort that out immediately.

Finally, I wish to remember those whose blogs are no more or have been abandoned; bloggers I have met through my soccer forum days (to which I will return!); or who have Blogger IDs, but not necessarily blogs themselves.

First and foremost, my co-blogger, Renato -- my best friend, in more ways than one, whom I bore every day with my blogging tales, to which he listens with the courtesy and affection which Canadians are justly renowned.

As well as:

Paul Chan
Sven Mischkies
Tom Maglio
Jim Goloboy
Jouni Honkala
Malte Zander
Darryl Solin
Jorge Vergara
Elko Tchernev
Patrick "Shussbar"
Juan Vazquez
Eoin Adams
Dani Sdao
Darrell "Anchoress"
Mister_M
Osbourne Ruddock
Robert Poleson
Tony Mac
Paul of York

And my constant Cubiche buddy, who has no blog, but whose presence means so much to me on Sundries, Mr. José Aguirre.

You're all so very dear to me. Thanks for dropping by whenever you can.

  • Thanks for the blogroll love, Victoria. I lurk far too often here but you should know, if your site-meter doesn't already tell you, I stop by every morning and enjoy myself far more than I'm entitled to.

Love the site, love your posts, love you.

  • Pfffft...offended.

What! After you and Tommocubed survived the Great Youksef Blogroll Cutbacks unscathed?? With you leading the charge??

Well, fine, be offended. Just don't forget to give me one later.

    Cheers,
    Victoria

Gosh...lump in the throat time. What more affection can a girl ask for? SiteMetre doesn't lie. :)

    Mwah!

  • Now, what did you have to go and do that for? I just finished trolling through your entire blogroll a couple of days ago and now I have to go through a new list? "Thank you very much" does not begin to express my feelings on this matter.

Well, actually it does, because you have included me, I see, particularly as my blog is in grave peril of becoming a bi-monthly publication.

As long as most of us around here at the moment are claiming to be offended for some reason or another, I'd like it officially noted that kullrad's avatar, is the Chinese character meaning "death."

  • Thanks for the special mention Victoria! I love reading your blog and it is I who needs to thank you for your wonderful writing! Muchas gracias my Honorary Cubiche!

  • Now, what did you have to go and do that for?

    'Cause I'm a woman. Enjoli! ;)

I just finished trolling through your entire blogroll a couple of days ago and now I have to go through a new list?

I love doing that whenever I go to a blog.

It may be somewhat trite to say that a blogroll reflects a person's character, but you CAN tell a lot about a person, by whom they consider worthy of their attention, even vicariously.

Having said that, God knows what my blogroll says about me.

I have lefties, and righties, and moderates, ideologically; as well as a motley crew of non-partisan bloggers, who I admit, are more to my taste because of that. Noodlepie is great.

And JSU's operatic blog is a jewel in the blogroll crown.

"Thank you very much" does not begin to express my feelings on this matter.

    Aww. Huggies. :)

Well, actually it does, because you have included me, I see, particularly as my blog is in grave peril of becoming a bi-monthly publication.

And I already have bi-monthly issues! Well, at least in the short month of February.

As long as most of us around here at the moment are claiming to be offended for some reason or another, I'd like it officially noted that kullrad's avatar, is the Chinese character meaning "death."

    LOL!

For the record, Kullrad's usage of "offended" is an allusion to a catchphrase used by a British-soccer forum regular, whom we know (and love).

As is "I agree with this webpipe" (IAWTWP), "Best weekend of my life" (BWOML) and "Who the **** are you?" (WTFAY).

This blogreply will self-destruct in 15 seconds.

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • Thanks, Vics, for adding my blog KillCastro to your blog roll, albeit under my name -Charlie Bravo. This blog is one of my constant haunts, I lurk here even from my road tripds.
    big thanks!

  • Thanks, Vics, for adding my blog KillCastro to your blog roll, albeit under my name -Charlie Bravo.

That's why I always hesitated to add it, though I had long wanted to -- porque...I can't STAND seeing "Castro" written permanently somewhere on my blogroll.

I'm not dissing the blog name. I read your explanation! :)

Just saying I have an emotional problem in seeing rank evil staring at me on my blog every day.

This blog is one of my constant haunts, I lurk here even from my road tripds.
    big thanks!

Better compliment hath no lady gotten: road trip drive-bys. :)

    Gracias amor,

  • I am honored! Thanks!

I am happy to have discovered your clever, witty and insightful blog via Ann's. I enjoyed your comments there for a good long while before I had the sense to seek your blog. It was a good find (and puts me back in touch with Miami, which I still miss -- how about a tour of all the little Cuban restaurants and bakeries, including the one on 57th and Flagler?)

  • First, Time Man of the Year, now co-blogger of Sundries, life is great!

Thanks for the kind words Vicky, I will be your wing man every day.:)

Is that new Whither app supposed to make me jealous of the weather in SoFla? If so, it's working.;)

By Blogger Renato, at Fri Feb 09, 02:17:00 pm GMT-5

  • Yes, I understand your reticence to see the name of that buch of tyrannical ectoplasm permanently written in your blog, even if it's preceeded by the verb (in it's imperative mode)"kill".
Lately, I am posting more stuff about my life as a rocking high-schooler and other tales of rebellion. I hope you liked them!
And by the way, any and every compliment I drop for you is very well deserved, as Sting would sing -in French- j'aurais toujours faim de ton blog!

By Blogger Charlie Bravo, at Fri Feb 09, 03:55:00 pm GMT-5

  • Oooops! I didn't notice that.
    Sorry, babs ;-)
I promise to give you two to make up for it.

By Blogger Kullrad, at Fri Feb 09, 05:05:00 pm GMT-5

  • WOW, thanks for that shout out ;). I barely have time to comment anymore, but since that great piece of software called RSS reader came into my life, I never miss any of your posts. Oh..and congrats on the Time Person of the Year award ;).

First, thanks, Class-Factotum, you're so generous.

And I will be making a trek to Red and Flagler, in your honour next weekend, since this weekend I'm going on another, already planned travellogue quest.

Stay tuned for that panaderias travellogue! :)

It just gets better and better, don't it?

Thanks for the kind words Vicky, I will be your wing man every day.:)

    Left-wing man? *g*

Is that new Whither app supposed to make me jealous of the weather in SoFla? If so, it's working.;)

Yes! All those Sasketchwan hits, showing that people in Canada would rather subject themselves to my blog, than go outside and do fun stuff.

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • Yes, I understand your reticence to see the name of that buch of tyrannical ectoplasm permanently written in your blog, even if it's preceeded by the verb (in it's imperative mode)"kill".

Well, see, this is where it gets twisted.

I have a tiny bit of that girlie-man, squeamish liberal inside me which I might have inherited from my parents. ;)

That prevents me from wanting a Kill in front of Castro, even though I hasten to add, that's not what your co-blogger and you, are saying (read the disclaimer in Charlie's blog, people!).

Anyway, what's wrong with Charlie Bravo? Sounds vaguely military, and therefore, ever so heroicly chic. :)

Lately, I am posting more stuff about my life as a rocking high-schooler and other tales of rebellion. I hope you liked them!

Read the one about the rock groups in la casa de Maria (IIRC), will read the others soon! :)

And by the way, any and every compliment I drop for you is very well deserved, as Sting would sing -in French- j'aurais toujours faim de ton blog!

Merci mille fois et que notre blogging-aventure continue! :)

RSS reader...oh the irony, Jorge, right? :)

Jorge, I never forget a friend. Even if the person and I, no longer talk.

I would also like to have mentioned Dani Sdao here, who had a blog about his hotel in Ottawa, but I forgot last night.

    Cheers,

Thanks for calling up the radio show today, and putting that partisan woman in her place.

Not only was I surprised to hear you're a fellow expat, but I was well impressed (as the chavs say), about your quick thinking on your feet, and wry humour.

    Cute too. ;)

    Cheers,

  • *Blush*

I have learned well from my sensei. ;) Listening to his contribution in Supreme Court oral arguments from the last twenty years is a crash course in vivisecting and shutting down points that cut against your position.

I think Ann did a superlative job of cutting her down to size - there wasn't much left by the time I got there. ;)

(Of course, if you got my email a few weeks ago, you might infer that I'm not a purely unbiased observer as to that, but I make a point of being scrupulously fair about such assesments).

  • By Jove, a website with me name on it. And not even in a bad way. Me is confused now. Dangit.
And I think I should use that blog-thingie of mine more often, maybe I could crosspost from my diary at that fabulous online community of mine. Hrm.

Uhh..did I say thanks, likewise yet?
Thanks. Likewise. You know, that last part n stuff *g*
