  • No less satirically, but perhaps less controversially (save with the OAP crowd), is FatalFarm's take on the Golden Girls' intro.

The lyrics of this 60-something show could well be the slogan of Sundries itself:

Thank you for being a friendddd, you're a pal and a confidante.

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • This is so insensitive, so politically incorrect, so controversial...

    I love it!

I liked the note of small note of "self-deprecation" at the end.

  • That was great! And I agree with you about the Golden Girls theme, too. Very appropriate.

Thank you for being a friend.

  • Okay, guys, in the spirit of nostalgia which overcame the blog yesterday -- especially during the me and Pastor_Jeff exchanges about commercials, here's another intro.

    This time, iconic Dynasty.

Not remembering or having watched most of the TV shows which were parodied (Doogie Howser M.D.??, Home Improvement?? Alf?? Okay, Alf I know, but still, I never saw the programme all the way through)...

...Renato said that the Dynasty intro was making fun of its long-ass opening credits. :)

Okay, maybe he didn't say "opening".

    Cheers,
    Victoria

    Hehe, yes. :)

    Thanks for commenting, Jeha!

In the spirit of your avatar, which features a wonderful polar bear (I like most bears in general, although they're sneaky, dumb and stubborn, a bit like the Russians as Otto von Bismark once said), and your liking the un-PCness of the video, this is a pic which MIGHT just amuse you:

    Polar Bear meets Baby Seal

Yay! Wow, I feel like Kos. Controversial, an asshole, and successful!

And I agree with you about the Golden Girls theme, too. Very appropriate.

    Thanks baby. :)

Thank you for being a friend.

    Dibs on Rue McLanahan!

  • Thanks for the pic; sometimes in Lebanon, there are days... Well, enough said.

  • That was wonderful. Thanks you for being a friend.

Oh, Jeha. How does one utter words of comfort to a guy who must get it from all sides -- sometimes quite literally.

You have my deepest respect, for enduring the unendurable at times.

And I'll keep an eye on your blog. It looks great!

    Cheers,
    Victoria

    Thanks, Adam. :)

I'll be linking to that post tomorrow. I may have to ask my fellow Brits for some tips on who is who, since you lose so much when you're away, but perhaps we can have fun with that list tomorrow. ;)

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • George Wendt! lol!

Some of them are funnier than others but I do like their new McDonald's ads.

  • vbspurs,

I did my "duty" in the previoius war, and during part of the occupation. Now I decided to use my "backup" passport, and see how it goes.

Many of us are in this "nihilist" phase, looking out for "numba wan"...

  • Please call me Victoria, Vicky, or Vic as you like. :)

    Oh I see...wow. Tough choice, I know.

Numba wan! Love it, will use. ;)

I had missed that, Renato. Good eye!

Some of them are funnier than others but I do like their new McDonald's ads.

LOL...the Hamburglar. Whatever happened to him?? Wasn't there also another mascot?

Now, to mirror these fascist times (to parody anti-globalisation nutters thinking) it's unidirectionally Ronald McDonald.

    He's The Decider, dontyouknow.

    Cheers,
    Victoria
