When I'm Down - Part Four

I just have to look at this picture...

...and I'm a little less down.

P.S.: Don't worry, I'm not that down. It's just that today I went to the dentist, and was told I need a root canal.

I told the dentist that I'm petrified of any dental work, being one of those rare, non-Native Americans who have only ever had one cavity in their lives.

And you know what the bastard said about the anticipated pain?

"I'm fillin' you. Heh. That's a little dentist humour for you."

I almost spat the Novocaine back in his mush.

  • LOL!

I should maybe save this for another day, but it was too good too pass up.

    Hillary Traida

"Traida" is the Portuguese for betrayed, as in wife.

    The caption reads:

"We discovered why she didn't care about having been two-timed by Bill"

There have been rumours of her switch-hitting for years, but this one actually makes her look troublingly like Greg Kinnear.

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • I have had root canals that have gone quite painlessly, and the end result was a great relief to me. But my last one? Madre de Dios! This involved a lot of white-knuckle gripping of the arms of the chair, where the dentist keeps trying to tell me to relax, relax, and I just want her to hurry up! She notices my death-grip and says relax -- again! -- and I squeak through the various tools, "I am. German relaxation.", which gets me a lot of laughter from everyone! But this just takes more time....

  • If I am to be the Jean-Pierre Rampal of the skin flute in that photo, can you imagine what I got in exchange? [Peter Sellers voice] Can you imagine?

    Ugh, totally.

"I will tell you NOTHING Nazi pig, nothing!"

Internet Ronin, how can I say this without entering the doors of Hell.

    Those priests are HAWT.

  • A former Brit with bad teeth? Who'da thunk it?

There is a church Sacrament that will help your pain/healing/tolerance thereof. Go get thee anointed. I was up and walking 6 hours after a C-section. All pain controlled by OTC medicine [though I still have a stash of Vicadin if the grid goes down]. It could only be the anointing. Trust me.

Ruth Anne, what part of "I only have one cavity to date" did you not understand?!?!

Cancel my retainer fee, please. I'm not having a lawyer like you handling my cases!

Anointing, eh? Well, I'll give it a go because my toof is KILLING me!

The problem is, as everyone knows, you can't do dental work when the tooth is infected. So I am on meds including a pain-killer, which scares the bejesus out of me.

With my family history of drunks, coke addicts, and general OCDness, one can never been too careful.

Do you kiss your children with that mouth???

    Honestly.

    What would Ann Althouse Do?
