Now They Discover Their Outrage

For years, Iraqi journalists were in collusion with one of the worst dictators man has ever produced. They lied to their own people, enabled a madman, sanctimoniously transmitted Baghdad Bob's lies du jour, without whimper, without protest, without one iota of courage emanating from their collective body.

But to George W. Bush, then they find their tongue, their outrage, and their manhood.

Firedoglake, amongst other left-wing sites, hails this man as a "shoe hero". They add this video for their readers' delectation.

Here's a message to the scummy journalist who flung his shoes in that universal Arabic insult which is so meaningless to the rest of the world:

Find a soul next time, when you're not living in a society and under an oppressor who would kill you if you dared do this to him...not to the man who helped to liberate your country so that you would find courage to do this one day, without physical punishment.

In other words, you disgusting, feeble, no-account fraud:

Do it when it really counts.

IN THE COMMENTS: Jim issues a much-needed correction.

He wasn't an Iraqi journalist, just a journalist in Iraq. He works for the al-Baghdadi network which broadcasts out of Egypt.

Several Iraqi journalists actually stood up to apologize to President Bush for the attempted insult, and I applaud them.

Unfortunately, though I did Google and Wiki his name, the first news reports didn't mention his nationality.

I apologise to the Iraqi journalists who were defamed by my words, though my general point stands. Journalists in that region seem to be only brazen when they know they can get away with it, not when their lives depend on it.

  • On the CNN screen capture: "All I can report is that it is a size 10"

I hope I'm wrong, but I think we're all going miss a President with a sense of humor.

    word verification: "splaters"
