Incredible India

A series of quick hits today.

First up, have you noticed how since the India-US rapprochement, we US television viewers have gotten a barage of "Incredible India" tourism spots?

As you know, I'm 100% in favour of showing only the good part of a place, as my South Florida travellogues can attest to.

But these commercials on India take the biscuit.

I promise you, when you go to India, you shan't be greeted by very dexterous dancers doing pliés in red parachute pants in front of the Taj Mahal.

You'll be lucky to dodge the poo chucked over pavements from shanty dwellings...

However, do please read this book for a more penetrating, and honest look at one of the world's biggest cities:

Maximum City: Bombay, Lost and Found

Yes, but you can see them in MCHammerWorld, somewhere near Lake OkeyDokey in Florida, right Victoria?

In fact, you can't touch me today. I'm all mucky from my spring cleaning (more anon). ;)

P.S.: Busy day for me, so thanks for waiting for a reply so patiently, Ron!

    Cheers,
    Victoria

    That's hilarious, Paul. :)

Although, vaguely, I have this feeling you are saying the tree-hugger crowd is right.

They can't be right! They just can't!

    Cheers,
    Victoria

If that is what you wish, they will never, ever be.
