We're All Hokies Today

Virginia Tech always give Florida college football teams a HECK of a game, never giving up, fighting with grit and gristle to the end. Sadly, the Hokies community today has been dealt a horrible blow. So today, we leave our rivalries behind, and join them in prayer.

May all who died so needlessly, rest in peace, and may this never happen again, anywhere...

  • It is sad though that this week we've seen more about the klller than about all 32 of the victims combined. I'll get sick if I read another story about Cho the psychopath.

And we have to ask what the purpose is of giving this stuff wall to wall coverage. His video shows that he obviously knew that is what it would get (ironically the only reason the round the clock coverage stopped today was because another gunman began shooting inside the NASA headquarters in Houston.) So are we sending the message out to sick individuals that the way to get attention, or for that matter to get famous (even if posthumously) is to go shoot some innocent people down in cold blood?

Media have voluntarily censored some things (i.e. the names of rape victims or juvenile offenders) maybe they should quit reporting on the name and showing pictures of the perpetrator when this occurs (or only name him if he is at large and needs to be found.)

  • jsu:

After surviving Hitler and the communists, Professor Lebrescu certainly recognized Death the moment it came to his door.

I believe that one or some of those kids will do something great one day, and the world will be a better place for it.

It's too bad that we've seen so many more articles about his murderer.
