Congratulations To President-Elect Barack Obama

Many congratulations on an historic election as President-Elect of the United States, to Barack H. Obama, and as Vice-President-Elect, Senator Joseph R. Biden.

A word to my Sundries readers.

I am by personal disposition and upbringing, a respectful person of those in office, and moreover, of anyone who is President of the United States. That will not change now with Barack Obama, however much I dislike his positions or how he achieved power.

I would only pray that Barack Obama leads our country, which is the best country in the history of the world, with the cool elegance and dignified demeanour he's had for much of this presidential race. I also hope and pray that our country remains at the apogee of its powers with him at the helm.

God bless our new president, his family, his running mate, and above all, our country.

  • Amen.

  • I hate to say it, but this is how McCain lost. As I recall, Obama announced he would bring a cannon to a knife fight. He has. Why be respectful of that? Why take his punches lying down?

Let's start to hold this man to account today. He hasn't been held to account during the campaign. What about the massive amount of fraudulent donations to his cause?? That should be reason for impeachment by itself (I know, I know, it won't be - but it should be). Where is the outrage?

  • Did you hear what Charles Krauthammer said about Obama? It made me feel a lot better.

(in case you didn't) He basically said he thought he would be a Kennedy-style pragmatist, that he would check the excesses of the congress and the leftist forces in his party.

    I hope to God!

  • I'm torn between saying two things - Congratulations, America, you just put the people who gave you the subprime mortgage into absolute power.

And the second? Was it good for you? Good. Because now you're pregnant - with triplets. And you have to keep the babies.

    Good luck.
