He's Just Not That Into You

(Welcome Benning's Writing Pad readers!)

Overheard, random conversation yesterday.

"Should I call him? He hasn't called since Saturday."
"Give it another week. He'll call you."
"How about if you call for me, and ask if he's been thinking about me?"
"I dunno."
"Come on! Here use my cellphone!"
"Okayyyy. I'll tell him I saw him at the gym, and forgot to say hi."
"Good idea!"

I just wanted to fling this book, He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys at them both.

By the way, I'd put each lady at around 31-33 years-old.

Maybe if they had been 18...MAYBE. But by the age of 30, get some wisdom, and some self-respect, for crying out loud.

  • I like the idea of the friend using the other lady's mobile to phone the guy to casually ask if he had been thinking about her (the lass with the mobile being "her" in this case - btw, why can't you form such beautiful sentences in English as my good old friend Kleist could in German...they'd never stop. Mark Twain must have loved him ;) )
Hilarious. Must be all that sun.

  • I think it proves that we can maintain the same insecurities throughout our lives. It also shows that some folks never get past their High School ways of dealing with relationships!

Very odd! By the way, do you watch Greg Behrendt's show?

  • Congratulations on your Thogger Award,Vics! Can't wait to hear your acceptance speech.

BTW, my monthly post is up - something I think only you among my 4 readers might appreciate. (I don't think this one will cause anyone to need papal dispensation for their thoughts -g-)

I was trying on some clothes yesterday, and in the other fitting room was this wonderful conversation:

"Does this make me look fatter? Why do I have to have such fat boobs, sigh. I am fat in this?"

It turned out the lady next to me was asking her daughter that, and she was indeed, a bit fat.

    But not THAT fat.

    Sheesh, women.

    Cheers,

  • Aye to the High School allusion, Benning. That's what I thought too.

By the way, do you watch Greg Behrendt's show?

    No, wassat? :)

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH BENNING!

Although I could do this, and probably will, it does have the slight air of a chain mail thingie, which isn't my cuppa...but I thank you so much for your kindness! :)

    Cheers,

  • Ha! I wish I could get women talking/scheming about me.

Apparently, just do what British men do -- pretend you're not interested, Alcibiades. :)

Never worked on me...I'm the literal sort, though. You act as if you don't care, and well, I'll guess you don't!

    Cheers,

    Carpeta. ;)

Yeah, Manola, that poor girl is too young to be caught in that trampa. Plenty of other fish in the sea, especially since she's half-way cute.

    Cheers,
    Victoria
