Sundries
...a sweatshop of moxie

Sooo, How Was YOUR Saturday?

(Welcome Benning's Writing Pad readers! I hope you've set all your clocks now, as I haven't despite my injunctions...)

You know how it is down here in March.

Always the bad weather, us Floridians.

What can one do, but just grin and bear it, right?

  • Guys, I'm going to be going on a two-day mini-holiday starting Monday, ending Wednesday probably afternoon.

I'll leave two or three posts up, and then resume business as usual, immediately thereafter.

Mum and I need a break, you know? ;)

And don't forget -- US and Canadian legislators have decided in their wisdom to up Daylight Saving Time from April to March!

As we speak, my clock went from 1:59 AM, to 3:00 AM.

Good ole Dell computer. Already paid for itself right there.

    Cheers,
    Victoria

  • This Saturday...I took a snooze after reading Sundries and a lit-crit piece on "The Band Wagon", the '53 Astaire-Charisse film...and I had a dream that you sent me a YouTube link asking me to dance to "Dancing in The Dark!" I did my Astairesque best to whirl you through it.

Good thing I'm not, as you say, a romantic type...It was a nice snooze.

Yes, yes. Never mind all that. Check out the babe in the bikini!

  • Wonderful, Vicks. Keep enticing even more folks to flood into our fair, albeit steamy, State. Sheesh!

More idjits whining, "We do it different up North." More clowns whining, "Damn, it's humid!" Another tumult of twits who will say, "Well, if you had a State Income Tax we could pay for ..." everything under the Sun! More developments rising on once pristine shores, blocking the view of the sea, and sucking our aquifers dry. GAD!

    *grumble grump*

    *sigh*

Sorry, ma'am, I was feeling a tad grumpy. Something about losing an hour, I suppose.

Now where did I put that danged hour?

  • [Trip.]

Hehe. A Titian-haired temptress, standing on the bow of the yacht as if she were a Maidenhead calling the sailors to her bosom.

The moment I saw her, I said, take your camera out, Vic!

    Cheers,
    Victoria

That reminds of that infamous Ninotcka dialogue between Greta Garbo's character and Melvyn Douglas'.

Ninotchka: "Excuse me. Could you tell me where the Eiffel Tower is?"

Count Dalgout: "Good heavens, is that thing lost again."

Thanks for the linkiepoo, Benning, I shall link back!

And I'll hurry back too. ;)

    Cheers,
