Forza Jennifer

Given what this poor girl has gone through, having had her mother, brother and nephew allegedly killed by her brother-in-law, it's a wonder she is still in one mental piece. But there she was, head held high, at the Super Bowl.

Though I missed it live, I was enraptured to hear Jennifer Hudson's rendition of our national anthem.

Is it Whitney Huston good? Maybe not. I literally get goosepimples hearing Whitney's version (can you believe it was 25 years ago!). But meh, who cares -- Jennifer was fantastic and all of America's hearts go out to her.

  • What an inspiration!

  • When my lefty friends ask me, "Aren't you inspired by Barack Obama?", I blink and say no. I don't find him inspirational in the sense of his life story.

But even without the enormous sadness of having to overcome the violent death of three of your loved ones, Jennifer Hudson has always been inspirational to me.

And on a frivolous note, she was actually one of the best things in Sex and the City too.

In other words, she's got a certain touch that explains a lot of her success.

    Cheers,
    Victoria

I forgot about that. That was inspired too.

  • That was a great performance. Very hard to do: go way, way, over the top and still be fantastic.

  • I just watched Whitney's--haven't seen it in years. Whitney's can't be beat for sheer joy.
