Reason 1,349,087 I Am Kinda Relieved John McCain Didn't Win

Because I don't have to look at his stupid Popeye grimaces for four very long years.

And that goes for Cindy McCain's bizarre wardrobe colour schemes, not to mention the "Brigitte Nielsen meets Dina Merrill" aggressively Aryan look to her face.

Hey, my first vent of the new Administration, and it's to do with his vanquished opponent and his missus. It must be the Change overdose I got today.

  • aggressively Aryan

You spooked me out here because when I first heard you use that phrase I thought you had something against blondes (both my kids look "aggressively aryan" ).

It was just the papa bear in me riled up. :)

P.S. Your response in that Althouse thread reminded me of a post- WW2 German atlas map that I once saw which showed swathes of Poland labeled "zur Zeit unter polnische Verwaltung."-as if.

  • Exactly! I am re-using that phrase after remmebering what I said on Althouse earlier. What a great memory you have, Chickenlittle. :)

And don't worry. The daughter of a British dude and a German gal knows a thing or two about being aggressively Aryan.

    Cheers,

  • McCain looks aggressively old in that picture, doesn't he?

  • When his staffers pissed all over Sarah Palin and he said NOT A WORD or nothing of substance for at least a week, I was so off of him. And then Meghan McCain saying Palin is someone she absolutely will not discuss? The effin' two-faced phonies. It's somewhat freeing to not have to make nice with McCain -- or any of the McCains -- ever again.

Oh Jesus Christ, Ruth Anne. I wish you had said earlier. Only the fact that Meghan had published your emails a few times, and that perhaps you still felt some sympathy for her, held me back from tearing her a new one, when I heard that about Palin.

I feel FREE to speak my mind now, about all the of the McCains.

    Buncha no-good Republican half-wits. *grumble*

    Cheers,

You know, because my world has always been surrounded by older people, I am not attuned to age differences as much as others. And when I do notice age, I consider it a positive thing.

Not that I am saying you think differently, Deborah, but I hadn't noticed that (indeed!) he looks like Methuselah in this photo.

  • Re: McCain clan--my brother tried to warn me!! But would I listen? Nooooo....

He had first-hand knowledge by virtue of being a journalist in the hometown paper in AZ.

  • You know, though, I would withhold my venom from Bridgette, Jimmy and Jack...by virtue of her lack of DNA and youth, and their valorous service in 'the family business.' And Meghan is parlaying her Blogette run and her connections into a nice job in the media. Natch.

By Blogger Ruth Anne Adams, at Wed Jan 21, 07:58:00 pm GMT-5

  • None of us listened, Ruth Anne, don't worry. My misgivings about McCain were always front-and-centre, and I made no bones about it on Sundries. But even I didn't know how backstabbing he would prove to be.

As for Jimmy, Bridget, and Jack, okay, fair play to them.

But Meghan's volte-face about Palin I find especially disgusting. She went on national television many times to say she had an "obsession" about Governor Palin. What a fink.

    Cheers,
    Victoria
